Narrative
Monarch butterflies migrate from Canada to Mexico each fall in search of warmer pastures. Together, they fly south in a burst of vibrant orange, like a cloud of autumn leaves rushing through the air. Throughout the journey, they make several stops, huddling together on trees to stay warm. One day, somewhere in Texas, a bluejay finds itself amidst the migrating monarchs. From the center of the cloud, the bluejay, a hungry little bird, eats the butterflies in wing's reach. It isn't until the next stop, when the huddle becomes smaller, that the remaining monarchs realize what has been lost.
